Back to being the Man of the house...

Well, Dad has returned to work this week after being on leave (that's what the Army calls vacation) for 30+ days as I recovered from my brain surgery. This means that I'm the man of the house between 0500 when my dad leaves to do PT and 1700 when he returns home after a long day of making sure his Army unit has the ability to communicate. It also means that I'm surrounded by women all day. My mom and my two sisters are home with me so I have to back my dad up while he's away to make sure they don't get too crazy. You know like repainting everything pink and yellow.
I can't lie...it's great to have them with me. They are all so eager to help me succeed in overcoming my disability. My "big" little sister MaryElizabeth may as well be a Drill Sergeant. She does her best to keep me on task and is always challenging me to crawl a little further or stand a little longer. She also works very hard helping my even little'r sister learn to walk and talk. Soon I'll have two of the best battle buddies a guy could ever ask for, and I pity the person that attempts to not give me my fair due. My sisters or body guards will surely have what it takes to cover my six.
It's also nice to have my mom home too. I have to admit that I'm a Mommy's boy...I'm only seven so give me a break or I'll call for MaryElizabeth. My mom is there to care for me if I bump my lip while playing in my room and start to bleed all over the place which I did today...ouch. She's also there to take me swimming and do all of the fun things that I get to do.
It's a tough job to have, but I like being the man of the house. Even if it's only for a few hours a day. Thanks Dad for all the work you do and allowing me to play king, but I like it much better when you're car pulls up in the driveway.
PS, don't let this entry fool you...everyone knows that Queen outranks the King in our house and my dad and I are just jesters in her court!!!

XMan, You are the PRINCE Charming and surrounded by Princesses, that's for sure. It has just got to be fun being the top guy while dad is out of the house. Know that your POP POP Ruddy is always on call if you need another 'guy' around! He GETS IT! Thank your daddy for us for being such a great dad. We are all so proud of him. I know you will give him a hug for all of us. Keep working hard and your eye on the prize! We love you so much and are praying all goes well with your doctor's visit next week.
